Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Zman Now (“the App”, “we”) handles information when you use our iPhone and Apple Watch application. Zman Now is built to work offline on your devices. We do not operate a Zman Now account system and we do not run an app backend that receives your location or zmanim data.

1. Who we are

Zman Now is an independent zmanim (Jewish times) utility. For privacy questions, email luolin0231@gmail.com.

2. Information processed on your device

The App may process the following information locally on your iPhone (and, if you use Apple Watch, mirrored to your Watch through Apple’s encrypted Watch Connectivity) to provide features:

• Location — GPS or a city you select, used to calculate zmanim and the direction toward Jerusalem (Temple Mount). Location is requested with “While Using the App” permission when needed.
• Device compass heading — used only on the Direction screen to show bearing.
• Settings you choose — for example minhag / calculation options, notification preferences, language, Travel Mode, and saved cities.
• Widget / Live Activity / Watch data — labeled times and related display data shared through an on-device App Group so Home Screen, Lock Screen, Live Activities, and Apple Watch can update.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect government ID, contacts, photos, or microphone audio.

3. What we do not do

• We do not upload your location, zmanim, or settings to a Zman Now server (the App has no such backend).
• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not show third-party advertising in the App.
• We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs to profile you inside Zman Now.
• The App does not make network requests for zmanim calculation.

4. Apple and system services

Some processing is performed by Apple as part of iOS / watchOS, for example:

• system location, compass, and notification services;
• App Store purchase of the paid app;
• WidgetKit, ActivityKit, and Watch Connectivity;
• optional reverse geocoding used only on-device to display a place name.

Apple’s handling of data as a platform provider is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.

5. Children

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information on our servers. Because we do not collect data on our servers, we also do not offer child accounts.

6. Retention, deletion, and your choices

• Delete locally: uninstall the App (and the Watch app if installed). This removes on-device settings and cached location.
• Permissions: turn off Location or Notifications in system settings.
• Deletion requests to us: we hold no personal data of yours on our servers to delete. If you email us a question, that message is stored by the email provider in the ordinary way.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
